Church of Our Saviour (COS) is a welcoming and inclusive Christian commuity, convinced that God enriches our lives by our particiaption in worship and service. We want to enjoy God through our worshp life, and seek to express an attitude of spiritual generosity as we welcome others. The people of COS prayerfully receive the Holy Eucharist every Sunday, as a means of empowering us to serve God and neighbor.
We value a rich worship life of Word and Sacrament.
We seek to be in continuity with our Christian past while being open to the new ways God is calling us to be Church in the world.
We seek to live the radical hospitality of Christ. All are welcome at the Eucharistic table.
Care for the Human Spirit: Are you busy, and wondering where the time has gone? Take a deep breath - and then think: God was with you in the busy times. Whether you knew it or not, whether you thought of God, He was as near to you as your breathing! He supported you, and caused you to wonder if you have to be that busy.
Anouncement of New Rector
The Vestry of Church of Our Saviour has called The Rev. Shireen Baker to be the new full time Rector of the parish. Mother Baker begins her ministry at COS on Monday April 4th.
The Best of Both Worlds
Young & Old
Our Saviour is an old church, one of the two oldest in Elmhurst, and some of us have been coming here 50 years or more. We’re also a young church, with a wonderful group of young children and families.
The Anglican / Episcopal Ethos
The Episcopal Church belongs to the world wide Anglican Communion. Anglicanism has a culture, an ethos. In The Anglican Way, James Fenhagen emphasized three elements: comprehensiveness, personal holiness, and holy worldliness.
